Where are we headed to this year?..............
RED STAR SIGNS AT 15 Empire Street, Frankton, Hamilton
(or, Kirikiriroa – if you must and you’re training to be a weather presenter!)
As per last year, when the clock got wound back and the event went back to the basics, the plan is to keep it that way to make things both affordable and fun. There’s a limit of sixty (yes 60) registrations this year as the sign shop is not the world’s largest, so it’s first up – first served.
The theme of the event is BOGUN (It’s the Tron – what did you expect?) So having everyone dress BOGAN/METAL on Friday would be a pretty hard case. Metallica t-shirts, black jeans etc., or full Westie – singlet, stubbies, mullets, canopiss, etc., you get the picture.
As always there will be plenty of lettering, gilding, airbrushing, pinstriping, plus, we're sure, some real goofy stuff going on at some stage. The gilding has a cost of $20.00 and Jeff Harvey, from Harvey Signs in Ashburton, is taking the class.
There’s breakfast provided at the venue on Saturday and Sunday, and lunch on both Friday and Saturday. Wood fired pizzas are on the agenda for Friday night. There’s going to be a coffee cart on site during most of the daylight hours too, this is a pay-as-you-go service. No plans for Saturday night as yet, but a meal will be provided whether it is off-site or in the workshop. Everyone will be provided with a sandblasted Letterheads H-Town 2021 glass beer handle to help with whatever is going to happen on Saturday night however, and a dj in the signshop is planned for.
If you are a collector of the Letterheads memorabilia, or you just like wearing the stylish gear that hosts have created in previous years, you’ll be pleased to hear we have something different for you this year – it’s the bogan tank top, singlet, wifebeater or whatever they are called these days. They are just $20 each and can be ordered when you register. (sample below)
As always, don't forget to support those who support Letterheads. Our sponsors are what makes the whole event possible.
